SC 2019 Advanced Energy Generation Call for Participation

The NASA Glenn Research Center’s Technology Transfer organization and the SC 2019 Advanced Energy Generation group is reaching out to Corporate Roundtable members focused on renewable power to network for potential collaborative projects and to provide regional sustainable energy solutions. Taking full advantage of NASA’s various energy experts and expertise, discover how diverse capabilities in our region can help advance your business. SC 2019 Workgroup Metrics Workshop on March 22, 2010

Barb Brown of BrownFlynn is facilitating a two hour metrics workshop on 3/22 at Trinity Cathedral for the 20 Summit workgroups. The workshop will guide workgroup participants in successfully mapping, measuring, and reporting successes of each groups' attainment of goals. SC 2019 Transportation Workgroup Moves Forward with CSN and Governor Backing


After the Summit’s Transportation workgroup presented at the February 2010 CRT, CSN, via letter, asked Governor Strickland to instruct ODOT to perform a more robust cost/benefit analysis and engagement of stakeholders regarding a bike/pedestrian lane on the I-90 replacement bridge.  Early this month, the Governor instructed ODOT to reevaluate the decision and again look at it as a viable option.  For additional information, please visit http://www.gcbl.org/planning/innerbelt.

August 12-14, 2009:  Sustainable Cleveland 2019 Summit

On August 12-14, Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson hosted a three-day summit, bringing together a diverse group of people vested in and dedicated to Cleveland to use their vast knowledge and imagination to create an action plan for building a green economy for Cleveland’s future.

CSN, in conjunction with the City of Cleveland and other leading champions of sustainability, worked to help prepare for the summit to determine how to make Cleveland a green city on a blue lake. Following the Summit, CSN has been appointed by the Mayor to his Sustainable Cleveland 2019 Council.

City Club Presentation:  Corporate Sustainability at Wal-Mart, 2007

In conjunction with the venerable City Club of Cleveland, CSN hosted Doug McMillon, CEO of Sam’s Club, for a discussion on sustainability initiatives at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club stores. Given the size of these corporations, these sustainability programs have a measurable impact on the economy, environment, and within the social fabric of communities worldwide.  Link to MP3 podcast >

CURE, 2005

A start-up plan created by Sustainable Cleveland and Leadership Cleveland the yet-to-be formed Cleveland Urban Redevelopment Entity. CURE uses market forces to drive sustainable urban redevelopment on contaminated lands.


Wind on Water (WOW), 2004

A project promoting commercial-scale offshore wind energy in Lake Erie. This project has broadened into network of over 40 statewide stakeholders evaluating a utility-scale wind farm, either onshore or offshore, in the 13-county region of Northeast Ohio.
o H2Ohio, 2003: A collaboration among Sustainable Cleveland, Leadership Cleveland and the Cleveland Bridge Builders that invented and promoted a civic vision to promote the sustainable use of our fresh water assets for economic and community development.
